Kyla started dancing at the age of four at Surrey Dance Centre. At SDC she trained in all genres and attended many competitions. She won various awards, scholarships and trophies, including the Junior 2 Cecchetti Award, and the intermediate Stage representative at Surrey Festival of Dance. For two seasons, Kyla performed with the Royal City Youth Ballet’s Nutcracker. Kyla left home at the age of 15 to join the Joffrey Ballet School in New York City as a full-time ballet trainee. Kyla graduated from Joffrey’s four-year certificate program after dancing lead roles in Sleeping Beauty, Coppelia, Swan Lake, Serenade, Don Quixote, The Nutcracker and Le Corsaire. Kyla has also danced with Ballet Kelowna and with the Yellowpoint Christmas Spectacular on Vancouver Island. Kyla’s most recent performance has been with Vancouver’s Coastal City Ballet in Swan Lake, she also performed in their production of Giselle in 2017. Kyla’s favourite role has been dancing the Sugar Plum Fairy for both RCYB and JBS. Kyla is currently studying Education at Simon Fraser University. This will be Kyla’s second season teaching dance in the Lower-Mainland. She loves sharing her passion for dance with her students, enjoys seeing them improve, and wants to pass on the magical feeling that comes with dancing on stage.
Lexy Cox - AcroDance, Stretch & Strength

Lexy is a diverse performer, choreographer and instructor specializing in a variety of dance
styles. She is a graduate of Ryerson University’s BFA program, majoring in Theatre
Performance and Dance. Her additional dance certifications include, the Canadian Dance
Teachers' Association, the Performing Arts Educators of Canada, Alixa Flexibility, the Acro Dance Teachers Association, and Acrobatic Arts Canada. Lexy is also a qualified dance adjudicator with the Professional Adjudicators Alliance and a proud member of Youth Protection Advocates in Dance.
As a choreographer Lexy has worked across Canada and the US on projects such as World Performers Canada National Dance Team (Spain, Portugal), Mini PopKids, Mirvish’s Matilda (Travelling Stage Artist Educator), Mirvish Musical Theatre Summer Intensive, Shrek The Musical (Rainbow Stage), Toronto Dance Teacher Expo, One Night Only Musical (Dora Award Winner- Now Audience Choice), Port Hope Capitol Theatre Company, New York City's Theatre Arts Centre, City Dance Corps, CNE Rising Star Talent Competition, Illuminite Toronto, Bravo AcademyToronto, and Google Learning Mini Series.
Her performance credits include; Bound For Broadway (NYC Theatre Arts Center), A Chorus Line (Rose Theatre), Cory Lee’s Cruel Intentions Music Video, ET Canada, Much Music’s Best Dance Crew Commercial (New Music Live), Madonna Bazaar (Opera House), High School Musical 2 live on Stage (Jonathan Randall Productions), Peter Pan (Royal City Musical TheatreVancouver), as Velma Kelly in Chicago (Treehouse Theatre), and as Bombalurina in Cats (Stanley Theatre Vancouver).
Currently Lexy is the Artistic Director of Full Out Dance, Managing Dance Attack Acro Convention, Directing Move With The Beat Dance & Acro Competitions, The Certifications Director of the Acro Dance Teachers Association's Acro Teacher Training Programs, and adjudicating competitions/ guest teaching for dance companies across Canada.
Danielle Fisher - AcroDance, Contemporary, Jazz, Lyrical, Musical Theatre
Danielle began dancing at the tender age of 3 and continued dancing for the next 15 years. She is well versed in Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Modern, Musical Theatre, and AcroDance. After graduating she attended the Scholarship Training Program in Vancouver BC, where she was introduced to the world of the circus arts. She began training with the Vancouver Circus school in 2014 where she began her journey as an aerialist, primarily as an Aerial Straps and Aerial Loops performer.
Danielle began her teaching/choreography career in 2012 specializing in Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Musical Theatre and AcroDance. Throughout the years she has produced many award winning pieces of choreography.
In 2012 Danielle travelled to Poland to represent Western Canada at the IDO World Championships in Ballet, Modern and Jazz. She was also the choreographer for one of the soloists on the team. Other notable performances include Ringmasters Showcase 2014-2016, Heps For Hearts, Carden International Circus(Aerial Artist), and VivaFest 2022.
Danielle is currently residing, and training, in Las Vegas, NV but continues to return each season to create competitive choreography for the dancers at DanceWest Studios.

Kylah Powell - Contemporary and Modern
Kylah Powell is a Vancouver born resident who attended on scholarship and graduated with a BFA in dance (with a focus on Modern) from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She studied dance under Leni Wylliams, Mary Pat Henry and Paula Webber, and also spent a summer in New York as a student at the Alvin Ailey Dance Centre.
Kylah has been teaching for over 20 years, with her choreography winning numerous awards throughout the Lower Mainland, including “Choreography of entire Dance Power Festival” for 5 years. She has performed in various festivals over the years, and her choreography has been showcased in the B.C. Festival of Arts, among many other events. In 2009, she choreographed and performed in a short film titled ‘Swell Season’, which screened at the Chicago International Film & Music Festival. During that time she was also part of Project CPR, a project focusing on the choreographic process, directed by Claire French. Choreographers included Sara Coffin, Heather Laura Gray and Caroline Liffman. Kylah’s most memorable moment came in 2010, when she danced in the Vancouver Olympic Opening Ceremonies! Since then, she has been focussing on her company (see below), and in 2015 performed a piece in a segment entitled ‘This Is A Full Length’, as part of the Dance In Vancouver Festival. In May of 2018, Kylah’s work was selected to be showcased in a special Gala celebrating BC’s 160th, held at the Vancouver Playhouse.
Kylah was a national level competitive gymnast for many years, competing both locally and out of province and country. This experience proved to be invaluable, as the teaching and choreographing of circus arts at Cirkids became another creative aspect to her life.
In 2005, Kylah formed CollabArt Creations, a contemporary dance company whose goal is to showcase the artistic collaboration of dancers, performers, and artists of various mediums in the public domain. She has produced and choreographed several full-length shows throughout the Lower Mainland, all of which were well received by enthusiastic audiences! CollabArt Creations has collaborated with artists including choreographers, dancers, photographers, painters, film directors/producers.
Marcel Tremel - Acro, Jazz, Lyrical, Musical Theatre, Song & Dance
Marcel Tremel is a choreographer, adjudicator, performer, and dance educator based in the Vancouver area. Marcel a fully certified Dance Teacher with ADAPT Syllabus (Jazz, Tap), Canadian Dance Teachers’ Association (Jazz, Tap, Acro), Acrobatic Arts, Progressing Ballet Technique, Alixa Flexibility and is working towards completing his certification with the Acro Dance Teachers Association. Marcel is also a graduate of the Canadian College of Performing Arts (CCPA) where he completed the full three-year program, earning him a Diploma in Applied Performing Arts. He also is a dance competition adjudicator, and holds certification with ADA Adjudicator, and is a proud member of the Professional Adjudicators Alliance.
Over the years, Marcel has had several exciting opportunities to perform and showcase his choreography, some of the highlights include: touring Western Canada and parts of the United States with a song and dance group called Saskatchewan Express, co-choreographing the CCPA’s production of Young Frankenstein, starring in CCPA’s production of Lend Me A Tenor, choreographing Hello, Dolly! with Fraser Valley Stage, and touring in England to dance in the Gilbert and Sullivan International Festival in a production of The Gondoliers.
The versatility in Marcel’s training has allowed him to push the boundaries of basic dance routines and create exciting new pieces to share with his community. He has been recognized with numerous choreography awards, had several high score/overall wins with his pieces, and has had students be accepted into prestigious post secondary institutions, and even go on to become teachers themselves. Marcel is passionate about dance education, and continues to train and perform as a working professional artist around the West Coast. He is excited to share his love of dance with the Dance West students!
Vanessa Quarinto - Ballet, Musical Theatre, Song & Dance
Vanessa was born and raised in southern Italy until the age of six, when her family was fortunate enough to immigrate to Canada. At nine years old, she was finally enrolled in her first ballet class -- where she fell in love with dance (as she knew she would!) and never looked back. She is classically trained in Cecchetti ballet, jazz, and lyrical. Additionally, she supplemented her dance training with active participation in workshops, choirs, private voice lessons, acting classes, and musical theatre performances. After graduation she proceeded to obtain a degree in literature and writing from the University of British Columbia, all while performing in and choreographing local shows for charity as well as teaching in community centers and daycares throughout the lower mainland. Favourite credits include Diana Morales in A Chorus Line (Fighting Chance Productions), Iris Kelly in Fame (UBC), and choreographer for RENT (UBC-SSM). Currently, Vanessa enjoys teaching dance and theatre arts to students of all ages and levels of experience. She is continually striving to learn and grow both as an artist and a teacher, and is most recently working towards completing her Cecchetti Associate qualification. As a teacher, she endeavors to foster a love of the performing arts and to promote connection, compassion, and creative expression in all of her students.
