Dance West

Student Information

Attendance
It is important to realize from the very beginning that attending every single class is necessary. For the development of the entire class all students must be present on a consistent basis, casual attendance does not result in improvement. Teachers and the studio reserve the right to ask a student to leave the class because of poor attendance. Please phone the studio if you will be missing a class due to extreme illness.

Behaviour
Dance is a very disciplined art and while the teachers are trying to encourage creativity and talent, there can be no tolerance of rude behaviour towards teachers, office staff or fellow students. Disturbances, either in class or at a Dance West event, caused by students or parents will result in the dismissal of the student from classes at Dance West. Students or parents who do not adhere to competition rules may also be asked to leave the studio.

Costumes
All recital costumes are sewn by professional seamstresses. A deposit is collected at registration, and the balance of the fee is to be paid when the sewing is completed.

At The Studio
There is a refrigerator with water, juice and light foods for sale (all proceeds go to the scholarship fund). There is a table for students to do their homework between classes, and a newly renovated waiting area for parents.
All students should have a dance bag to hold their belongings, and we remind you to label your shoes and clothing to avoid mixups.

Practising
It is essential that students practise at home so that the choreography learned so far is understood and they will have a good foundation to build upon for their next class.
